Eat, Pray, Love – Elizabeth Gilbert

I really enjoyed this book, the spiritual journey to find one’s self and balance in life was a really enjoyable read. The use of three countries to enhance the different cultures and societies were my favourite part of the book.

However I felt the last few chapters let the book down. I really enjoyed Liz’s search for her own independence in life and the journey she had rather than the romance she became obsessed with. I became slightly irritated by the end of the book because it was as if she’d came this far to become stuck in the same situation she ran away from. If I wasn’t so determined to finish the book I may have even stopped reading the last few chapters….I know even I’m disgusted with myself! But, if you’re looking for a good spiritual journey to read, this is a good place to start and who knows, maybe you’ll enjoy the ending!

Over on goodreads, I gave this book a 3 out of 5 stars, you can find the link below:

My GoodReads Review

Despite all of this, I am very tempted to read the follow up to this book, ‘Committed’ which follows Liz after her spiritual journey. I am intrigued to see what happens and I do find Elizabeth Gilbert’s style of writing charming which only encourages me more. Give it a go guys!
