The Fault in Our Stars – John Green

The Fault in Our Stars would be categorised as a Young Adult or Contemporary novel so perfect for anyone interested in these two genres. If this wouldn’t be your immediate type of book, don’t be put off because it would probably still be an enjoyable read for you!

This book had been mentioned on so many occasions to me by my friends, or I had spotted it on the internet on so many book blogs and websites. I had to read it to see what the craze was about. When I started reading The Fault in Our Stars I had high expectations with everyone saying how great it was. Honestly I wasn’t blown away by the start although I still enjoyed it. By the time I had reached the second half of the book I was engrossed. John Green builds you up for a rollercoaster experience. My emotions were everywhere and I refused to put the book down until I had finished it and found out what had happened. It is an emotional read that captures the feelings of individuals dealing with cancer and you couldn’t help but empathise with them and care for them. This is definitely a book worth reading! πŸ™‚

Over on goodreads I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars because I thought it was very good but I wasn’t obsessed with it from the first page. I think this book is slowly becoming a victim of hype. Yes it is a great book, but too much is expected of it because of the attention it is receiving.

My GoodReads Review

Don’t let me put you off though, get reading it! It’s a must!
