Weekend Reads #7

Happy weekend!

So once again we’re back to the working week for me and the relaxing weekend for others. I don’t mind though because I always aim to read my way through the weekend with a few good cups of tea or a few glasses of vino.

This week I finished reading A Bend in the Road by Nicholas Sparks and Life After Life by Kate Atkinson. The review for A Bend in the Road was up earlier this week and can be found by clicking on the book title or picture below.

I finished Kate Atkinson’s Life After Life yesterday and plan to have a review up for it tomorrow so keep a look out. If you are interested in what the book is about, click on the title or the picture below.

This weekend I hope to read Legend by Marie Lu which I have heard lots of great reviews about and even comparisons to The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It follows the story of two characters, Day and June in a dystopian city which was once the United States. Day is a wanted criminal and June a privileged prodigy being groomed for the now Republic. Their paths cross as Day murders the only member left in June’s family and she goes after him for revenge. I started reading this book last night and so far I am engrossed.

As well as Legend, I am hoping to read the second instalment in The Hunger Games trilogy, Catching Fire which returns with Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark. However there are rumours in the Capitol of a rebellion which may have been sparked by their actions in the arena. It continues to get exciting and I cannot wait to get stuck into this book.
