Happy Weekend Readers!
This week has been incredibly exciting for me as I started a new job in a place that has always been awe-inspiring and thought provoking for me. To say I am finding this opportunity exciting would probably be an understatement as each day presents some new and interesting challenges. I am finally in a place that allows me to explore a hobby in a more professional style whilst sharing my enthusiasm with the public. All I can say is I am very lucky.
Diverting away from my mini-rant above and back to my love of books, this weekend will hopefully allow me to finish up one book and start another. Earlier in the week when I posted Daily Reads #8 I mentioned I would be reading Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell and The Scorch Trials by James Dashner. As the week continued I actually changed things around as I started reading Eragon by Christopher Paolini as I became aware that this book, despite being published in 2002 made some big imprints on the world of the dystopian genre. I can remember being in school and people reading Eragon whilst I tried to battle through Charles Dicken’s Great Expectations so I thought that I would finally get round to seeing why this series was so popular in its time. If you want to find out a bit more about these books you can click on the book titles above or the book covers below.
At the minute I am reading both Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell and Eragon by Christopher Paolini so hopefully as this weekend unfolds I can finish these books up and have a review post up over the weekend or at the start of next week.
If anyone has read any of these books please feel free to comment below if you enjoyed them or would recommend other work by the author. I am particularly interested in hearing whether any readers enjoyed the entire Eragon series? Or if other books by Rainbow Rowell are worth checking out because I have been thinking of buying Fangirl and Landline?
I hope everyone is making a successful start to their reading for the month of June and don’t forget to have a great weekend.
