Daily Reads #17 and Bout of Books Read-A-Thon Update

So hello everyone, I’m sure you’re wondering what’s going on as I promised so much more for the blog last week. Unfortunately though I took very ill last week and was in bed for over 3 days. I didn’t even get to fully participate in the Read-A-Thon as I slept most of the time and recovered, I couldn’t even concentrate which really annoyed me because I had planned to read so much. I suppose though I can look at it in a positive light, I can keep all my new books for my holiday and enjoy them on a sun bed with a cocktail by the pool. So unfortunately my Read-A-Thom update is poor as I only managed to finish some of the books I had started the previous weekend, so in all I completed 3 books but I also plan on reading another two this week before the end of the month.

The books I completed last week were The Death Cure by James Dashner, Landline by Rainbow Rowell and Paper Towns by John Green. This week then I will hopefully have another couple of reviews up not to mention a Monthly Wrap Up as we near the end of August and begin another new month, September. I can’t believe August is nearly over, where is this year going?

However without being morbid we are now entering my favourite time of the year, I love the Autumn and Winter when it’s super cosy and the woolly pyjamas come out. Hot chocolate makes it way to the front of the cupboard and nothing beats walks through the park with crunchy leaves beneath your feet. To say I’m excited may be an understatement.

The two books I am hoping to read this week are If I Stay by Gayle Forman and Prodigy by Marie Lu. If I manage to finish these two books before the end of August I will have read more than I’d hoped for this month even with being ill.

There’s lots to look forward to this week as I have to make up for the posts I didn’t get up last week. So I hope you look forward to them as much as I am looking forward to writing them.
