August Book Haul

book haul August

Originally I went out to buy some last minute holiday clothes because it’s not long before I’m jetting off for some time in the sun. However I couldn’t pass the book store without having a little look and as we all know you can’t go into a book store without buying a book or five….

So I suppose I stuck with the tradition and invested in a few books but in my defence I had some of them on my wish list and would have eventually got round to buying them. I also managed to pick up two books that I hadn’t planned on buying or heard of before so it will be interesting to read them without having been influenced into buying it by the word of others.

So below are the books that I picked up this week, if you would like more information on them click on the book titles or covers;

Shadow and Bone – Leigh Bardugo

Everyone is talking about this book and I am looking for a new series so hopefully this will be the perfect one for chilly autumn evenings and a mug of coffee.

The Rabbit Back Literature Society – Pasi Ilmari Jaaskelainen

Spotted this one in the book store and was immediately caught up in it’s interesting plot and unusual characters. Reminded me of a winter read so might try and keep this for closer to December.

More Than This – Patrick Ness

I read a Patrick Ness book not so long ago and loved his style of writing. From that moment I have been searching for another book of his to read and this one has been highly recommended so it was a must have when I spotted it.

Geek Girl – Holly Smale

This book is my guilty pleasure as I secretly love high school dramas and romances, so when I read the blurb I was hooked. Just your typical geek girl, no friends, not popular and suddenly things begin to change.

1Q84 – Haruki Murakami

Confession time, as much as I have read and heard so many great things about Murakami, I have never read one of his books, therefore I wanted to get at least one and give it a go. This edition contains both book one and two of this unusual dystopian plot and sounds exactly like the kind of book I would enjoy. Who knows after this I could join the many others and become a Murakami fan.

Well guys I hope you enjoy my mini haul, if you have read any of the books above don’t hesitate to comment and let me know what you thought of them. Or if you would like to see any of the featured on the blog sooner rather than later leave a comment and let me know!
