Happy Monday Readers,
An unusual thing to say I know as how many Mondays are really happy with heading back to work and the start of the daily routine, waking up early and making lunches. This week however is one of a kind as its Bout of Books #13 and theres nothing I love more than a week with a read-a-thon. I am feeling super motivated this week to read read read and even writing this I am looking forward to getting home and getting lost in the pages of a book.
This week I won’t be lost for choice as I have a selection of different books I am hoping to read. First I want to finish Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi and Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira, I started both books over the weekend but haven’t got finishing them just yet. Both are very different reads but equally as addictive with fast paced and enjoyable plots.
Speaking of finishing books I want to get my review finished for Saga by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples. This graphic novel was amazing and anyone interested in graphic novels I would recommend checking out my review once it’s posted. It won;t contain any spoilers but will gush on all the greatness that was Saga Volume One.
Last but not least on my list of books that need finishing, I am a few chapters away from finishing Where She Went by Gayle Forman. It’s the follow-on novel to If I Stay which told the story of Mia, a girl left fighting for her life after a car accident with her family. If I Stay was an emotional rollercoaster and I held out for the same beautiful and descriptive writing in Where She Went. It’s safe to say I am not disappointed as this book is just amazing, I have really been struggling to put it down.
So already it seems like a packed week with reading but I am hoping to fit in another two;
The Summer I Turned Pretty – Jenny Han
Vampire Academy: Frostbite – Richelle Mead
Again these are two very different books given that one is the second book in the Vampire Academy novels and the other follows the story of a girl and her two male friends. I love plots that take place during the summer, it’s just a guarantee to be filled with something weird and wonderful and from the sounds of it I am expecting a teen love triangle with drama and suspense. As the weather here is getting warmer and summer is just around the corner I think it is time to break out the summer reading material so I am looking forward to reading this one.
Feel free to comment if you have read any of these books or if you or taking part in the Bout of Books read-a-thon. I would love to hear what others are hoping to read over the next few days!
Have a great week!
