We’ll Always Have Summer – Jenny Han

This is the third book in The Summer I Turned Pretty Trilogy, a series that captured me from the very start. I couldn’t put the book down as I was so gripped on the plot and as I finished one book in the series I was straight into the next one, hooked on this book may be an understatement.

The final book follows Belly, now a college student and in a loving relationship with Jeremiah, it took a lot to get their but she finally had the right Fisher boy. Suddenly she finds out that things aren’t as perfect as she thought and she has a lot of tough decisions to make.

I don’t want to write too much about the plot as it could spoil it for anyone that hasn’t read any of this series yet and would like to, but this could be the best of the three books. So much happens in this plot that my head was spinning trying to keep up, it was tense, exciting and a real page turner. I literally could not put it down as I finished the book in two sittings. It would have been one only I had to go to sleep for work the next morning. This book had me hooked until the very end because I just didn’t know what was going to happen, it was filled with suspense until the final page.

Once again Jenny Han had me captured in her writing as the plots rolls smoothly from page to page. There are also different points of view from each of the characters which left the reader omniscient and knowing more than the characters which also meant I was rooting for people and my heart was breaking for others.

One reason I think I loved this series is because of the characters, I couldn’t help but love them all, Conrad and Jeremiah are strong, stubborn and each possess their own charms. Belly is growing up and dealing with issues throughout the whole series, from boys to loss, to friends and drama. Her family are caring and loving and her friends are equally as loveable as they are annoying, all of this creating the best mix for a great book.

I gave this final book in the series a 5 out of 5 on goodreads. It was everything I had hoped for and more. As much as I loved this series i’m also really sad it’s all over. I think I’m going to have to invest in some more Jenny Han for my shelves because I just love her writing and her characters. If anyone has any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it.
