2015 Wrap Up

Hey Readers!

So I know I’m a little late with this blog post however it’s better late than never, 2015 is gone and make way for 2016. This year is very special to me already as I am getting married this year, a lot of planning has been put into the special day and still there are lots to do.  I am very excited about getting married, going on honeymoon and starting another amazing chapter of my life. For now though I’m going to head back to the past and have a last look at 2015.

2015 was a great year of reading for me; I read lots of fantastic books and even collected a few new ones along the way. I didn’t exactly hit my reading challenge of 80 books finishing the year on only 42 books yet I still read a lot and enjoyed every second of it.

As for my other reading challenges I did quite well in the Bethany House 2015 Reading Challenge crossing off quite a few of the categories half way through the year;

I didn’t manage to read as many Big Books as I’d hoped, however I have noticed that most books seem to be just over 300 pages and its rare I come across a large book. Also I tend to pick a book based on wanting to read it not by the size so maybe I was a bit hopeful when I had set 12 as my goal. In the end I managed to read 3 Big Books over 400 pages in 2015.

As for my TBR challenge I feel I did really well last year as I purposely set out to read more books from my shelves and cut down on buying books. Almost all books I read last year had been Christmas presents from the year before or permanent residents on my bookshelves.

Finally I was hoping to finish some series that I had started and within 2015 I managed to wrap up 3 series; however in the space of the year I also started 6 more so I think this may have been a tricky challenge to start with. It’s becoming harder and harder each year to read a full series as authors are writing less standalone novels and opting more for a series which expands over years.

As mentioned above I read some fantastic books in 2015 so below I wanted to list 5 of my top reads. If you want to find out more just click on the image or book title.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children – Ransom Riggs

The Summer I Turned Pretty – Jenny Han

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before – Jenny Han

The Martian – Andy Weir

Carry On – Rainbow Rowell

So I hope you enjoyed this quick 2015 wrap up, don’t forget to check back for my 2016 Reading Challenges.
