Daily Reads #128

Happy Monday Readers,

This Monday is to be celebrated because if you are in the UK it is a bank holiday which means most people are off work and are probably recovering from a long weekend. My Monday will be spent trying to get the paint out of my hair from redecorating all weekend but that’s hardly something to complain about if I get Monday to myself.

This week marks the start of a new month and of course a new TBR pile so April is very much a welcome sight. With that in mind I have a few books picked out to read this month focusing on continuing with series or finishing them. The two series I’m focusing on is the Grisha trilogy and the Lunar Chronicles.

Starting Cress by Marissa Meyer this week is a big priority for me, I don’t know why I never continued with this series after finishing Scarlet but with finishing the ACOTAR series last month it got me thinking about the Lunar Chronicles. I remember finding Cinder a bit difficult to get into but Scarlet had me hooked from the start. I loved the second book so I have high hopes for Cress. I remember when it came out a few years ago and people were talking about how great it was so I am very excited to dedicate some time to it.

ruin and rising

Also this week I want to start Ruin and Rising, the final book in the Grisha trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. I read the first two books a few years back and for some reason never finished it. I have no idea why! So after talking about this series with a friend and seeing lots of talk about Six of Crows I was attracted back to this series. Fingers crossed I remember the characters and the plot line because it has been some time but just thinking back to it while writing…I’m pretty sure I will settle into the story no problem.

So readers have a good week whether you’re off enjoying some free time or working hard.
